Paolo, tata a domicilio a Mazzano

Paolo was our au pair from October 2016 to June 2018. He lived in our home in Westport, Connecticut. Paolo is very responsible person, and we totally trusted him with our children safety and happiness. My wife Lori and I both work a lot – I work every day and many evenings, and Lori travels a lot out of town on business. Paolo did a very good job of managing our 2 boys’ (then ages 9/10 and 11/12) busy schedule of school and activities. He also is an excellent driver and was skilled at driving different automobiles in different weather and tricky road conditions. He knew how to respect the rules of our home, and he helped teach the boys to be responsible and respectful. He also was always a great playmate - always there to entertain them – especially with all kinds of sports including basketball, soccer and tennis. Paolo is very intelligent – and he loves to laugh and make others laugh with a witty sense of humor. He learns quickly and is very curious. He speaks excellent English and really developed an appreciation for American culture. He is a competitive person which was a great example for our kids, but if you get in a debate with him (or play a board game), you probably should let him win! He loves to travel and have new experiences – he also is a very passionate person and tells good stories. Paolo made a lot of friends here in Westport – many were au pairs from around the world. He also was beloved by our sons’ friends and their parents – in fact they all came to his farewell party before he returned home to Italy. Paolo’s job with us did not involve deep home cleaning, but he did a good job of cooking and keeping the kitchen clean, and of doing the children’s laundry. He eats a very healthy diet and sets a very good example of how to exercise and focus on nutrition and well-being. He’s not a maid or a seamstress or a professional chef, but he takes all of his duties very seriously and is very competent. Paolo is intuitive – he can perceive how other people feel even when they don’t communicate it. He is a confident person, yet sensitive (sometimes too sensitive!) I would also be remiss if I didn’t point out that every day, no matter how hard a day I had at work, Paolo always made me feel better and less stressed when I got home. Always a kind word. Always a question about how my day was. Always another question about what specifically I did that day – and what happened in the world that was good or bad. He really cares about people and I truly consider him one of the best and closest friends I’ve made in many years. We stay in touch regularly (but not enough) on Facebook messenger and skype – and we always make each other laugh. He will always be like a brother to me, and a fun and caring uncle to our kids. I miss Paolo. We all really miss Paolo. We always knew we would miss him, but with what’s going on the world, it sure would be great to have him here with us. We were so happy when Paolo’s father visited us here in the States. Such a kind man, we could see where Paolo got his warm disposition. When we read about Italy and coronavirus, we think of Paolo and his family – because they are our family. Any family would be lucky to find and hire Paolo. It is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
