Alexandra, prescuola a Lipomo

My name is Alexandra, I am 35 years old. I am Danish and now living in Italy with my spouse, two dogs and cat.
I have a degree in social work, and I have been working with children in different contexts for more than 15 years. My latest job, that I left in Denmark when moving here, I had for three years- this was in an institution for traumatized children, where our youngest was 6 and the oldest 18. Prior to that I have also worked as an aid for children with special needs (autism and anxiety) in two different schools. I have worked as a pre school teacher and also in day-care as well.

I am a calm, loving and caring person with much patience. I see children as highly competent individuals with great potential for positive development, no matter their challenges and circumstances. On the path to unfolding their individual competences I make sure to be aware of when to be the guide and teacher, when to provide a comforting hand to hold, and when to take a step back and let the child explore their own capabilities. I always have a positive focus on the childs resources, and I make sure that the child feels that they’re seen, heard, understood and appreciated for being just who they are.

What activities we will be doing depends on the child’s day. If the energy is low we can read a book or work on creative projects for example. If the energy is plenty we can play outside, sing and dance, play soccer etc. I am open to the child’s interests and needs on the given day and time.

As a last comment I want to mention that my Italian is very limited still, since I have only lived here for a few months.
