Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the position of Au pair in Tuscany. Attached you will find a copy of my CV for your consideration. As you will see from my CV, I have gained most of my experience in language teaching and translation.

I have been teaching both English and Spanish for thirteen years in Venezuela and Italy. Not only have I taught both Business and General English but I have also extensive experience in training students for Cambridge English examinations (e.g. IELTS, FCE, CAE) with some occasional History, translation work, student presentation skills and extra-curricular school support mostly in Italy. Teaching has enabled me to get to know students from all over the world, different ages, learning needs and of all walks of life from whom I have learned a great deal. I take pride in being target-oriented and in maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude especially when facing difficult situations. I also enjoy being in contact with people from different cultures and have outstanding communication skills in English, Italian and Spanish.

At university in Italy I read Political Science and International Relations, which provided me with broad, precious understanding of social sciences, economics and world affairs. I also experienced authentic exposure to the impact of social and government agenda on the economy and individuals. For my Bachelor’s degree, I conducted a considerable amount of statistical research and computer work towards my final dissertation in Statistics. Furthermore, I have recently completed my Master’s degree in International Studies with a dissertation on Venezuelan foreign policy. I do believe that both my excellent English language skills and academic background make me a suitable candidate to fill this vacancy.
