I’m Maria Shadey, a young bilingual woman born and raised between Italy and the USA. I currently work as an EC teacher at ASM - American School of Milan.
During this period of time I was able to deepen my teaching techniques based on the Reggio Emilia approach, which I discovered I loved while finishing my Master's degree in Education at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in 2020.
Through this job and my previous work experiences at Primary and Preschool levels, I have learned so much about Pedagogy and I also had the chance to deepen my understanding by attending workshops and training about digital languages at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre.
One of my first work experiences in Milan was at Pingu's language school, where specifically I had the opportunity to give English lessons to children from 3 to 10 years old. Concurrently, I have always given one-on-one private lessons to individuals of all ages, and I have held the position of private English educator with Milanese families for 8 years now.
In addition, I present first aid certification and have experience teaching children with various learning fragilities (ADHD, autism and down syndrome).
